HIT OR FLOP: Bepannah, Qayamat Ki Raat, Taarak Mehta, Naagin 3?

Jennifer Winget and Harshad Chopra starrer Bepannah seems
to have it all – a well-known star cast, a different storyline and ample
twists. However, that hasn’t translated into huge numbers for the show. For, it
hasn’t been able to cement its position in Top 10. In Week 27 (June 30 – July
6) it acquired the 19th spot. Way off the mark, we say!

Furthermore, Ekta Kapoor’s Qayamat Ki Raat starring
Karishma Tanna and Vivek Dahiya found a spot in Top 10 in the first week of its
premiere. The supernatural drama hit TV screens on June 23 and in Week 26 (June
23-29), it acquired the 8th spot. However, in Week 27, it dropped to the
10th position. It’s still early days for the show. Let’s see if it manages
to move up the ladder.

Kapoor’s another offering, Naagin 3, starring Karishma
Tanna, Anita Hassanandani, Surbhi Jyoti and Rajat Tokas continues to rule the
leader board. Now, it wouldn’t be incorrect to say that the supernatural
thriller has acquired a loyal fan following and if the current trend is
anything to go by, should maintain its monopoly.

Up next, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah moved up by two
positions this time around. The comedy show was at No. 10 in Week 26 and
positioned itself at No. 8 this time. TV’s beloved Dr Hansraj Hathi (Kavi
Kumar Azaad) died after a massive cardiac arrest on July 9. Will that
affect the show’s ratings? Time will tell.
Dilip Joshi In Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah
To talk of the rest of the leader board, Yeh Rishta Kya
Kehlata Hai registered a big jump. The family drama went from No. 9 to 5.
Kundali Bhagya, Kumkum Bhagya and Dance Deewane clinched the 2nd, 3rd and
4thspots respectively.
Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala and Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki
showcased a dip. While the former dropped from 5 to 7, the latter went from 7
to 9.

Ishq Subhan Allah was static at No. 6.
